Women In Crisis: Plan B

SAY GOODBYE TO 2011 AND
HELLO TO 2012!
But stop!
Already there are more 'WOMEN IN CRISIS' headlines than you can shake a stick at.
Take your pick - from the Daily Mail's - 'Women Face Pension Poverty'   to 'Women will bear brunt of austerity drive.'  Even the Queen is expected to 'suffer' in the downturn - 'Queen Suffering Downturn Accepts Austerity Measures'.
Global Crises, Global Solutions: Costs and BenefitsINDEED Women In Crisis looks set to be a feature that women in the UK will be unable to ignore.   Take the UK’s coalition government rolling out more about its 'austerity cuts' including the plan to axe the Crisis Payments (February 2011).
Now, you may or may not know this but, this particular little benefit has its uses.
According to my friend Linda, a former Miss West Indies in Great Britain - now a Gov Librarian, says, the loan is quite simply a "lifeline in times of crisis".
Crisis Economics: A Crash Course in the Future of Finance

Unfortunately, she doesn't expect the Government to be lisening.  As austerity news goes, global solutions are needed, especially when dealing with the family.  According  to Linda, "as women are oftentimes in charge of the family purse strings, the onus on wresting what little families can get off the government in times of crisis is essentially a good one".

Of the plan to axe the CP cash, Linda says, we should be up in arms. "Bang goes the last vestige of elegance left in times of crisis for a lot of women trying to keep their families heads above water."
Still, new trends will emerge and crisis news (on-line) has it that a new trend is emerging, courtesy of some of our more flagarant sisters (that include the beautiful, the famous and the controversial), can be found flogging their 'undies' on E-bay!

RISQUE BUSINESS

NOW flogging yo G’ strings on ebay, may be according to pundits, a little risque but it suggests, elegant or not, when push comes to shove, risqué  may well be the name of the game.   SO, here’s to an emerging trend and the Ladies that Dun it! And heres a list of the 'Trendsetters'.

 'THE TRENDSETTERS'

Victorian Fashionista 1880-1890
Great Fashion Designs of the Victorian Era Paper Dolls in Full ColorNot A trend to be sneered at.  Why?  In 2008 a pair of Queen Victoria's Bloomers, with a 50-inch waist, were snapped up for $9,000 by a Canadian buyer at a central England audtion.  The handmade knickers date back to the 1890s and bear the monogram "VR" (for Victoria Regina.  None other than Queen Victoria!.  They are open open crutch style, with separate legs joined by a drawstring at the waist - a popular style in the late ictorian era.
Megan Fox
In 2009 ‘Megan Fox's Panties went up for Sale On EBay’. The winning bid was US $99.95.

Peaches Geldof
Meanwhile, in the so-called ‘Peaches Charity Auction on Ebay Controversy’  (2006) - billed as 'celebrities are groupies too', Peaches G and her ‘underpants’ were removed from eBay after the online auction site deemed the lot “unsuitable” for sale. Trend over?    XCertainly not.

Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade of HitsChristina Agullera
The beautiful Christina Agullera  made her debut with her 'used' thong and bathwater auction on EBay last month.
Still, rumors suggest the 'auction' was a fake!  (my money is on it was for real!).
Whilst Christina is busy fluffing it, the tricky question of whether to sell 'used' or 'fresh out of the laundry basket came up.

E-Bay / Policy overview
eBay For DummiesA perusal of e-Bay policy on clothing / underwear reveals;  ‘used clothing (except underwear) can be listed on eBay as long as it has been cleaned according to the manufacturer's instructions and is stain free.’ (http://fashion.ebay.co.uk/)

There you have it.  An emerging trend in an amazing nut shell.   Now where's my Laundry Basket?

Boo!
